What Is PET?

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is the common name for a unique plastic belonging to the polyester family. Raw materials for PET are derived from crude oil and natural gas. PET is one of the most common plastics used in the design, manufacturing, and production of everyday products. rPET Flake & Resins

PolyQuest is a leading manufacturer of recycled polyethylene terephthalate resins (rPET). By offering a wide variety of rPET options – whether clear, green, or mixed color, in addition to food grade and non-food grade – we are able to supply rPET solutions for any application.

What exactly is rPET? It is the recycled version of PET. It can refer to ground washed bottle flake from beverage, food, and non-food packaging. It’s also used to refer to resin that has been produced from the washed bottle flake. PET has the resin code number “1” and is identified on any package that contains PET.
