Wilmington, NC: PolyQuest, Inc. announced today the addition of Polypropylene (PP) to its portfolio of thermoplastic products. As North America’s largest distributor of PET resin, PolyQuest will now offer PP resins to both existing and new customers in the market.

Within the PET and PP realm, PolyQuest will now offer its customers the most comprehensive multitude of feedstocks in the industry including virgin PET, post consumer recycled PET (rPET) and post industrial rPET as well as PP homopolymer, random copolymer, and impact copolymer resins. “Our current PET/rPET customer base in North America also depends upon PP as a major raw material to support their businesses” said Tod Durst, Executive Vice President of PolyQuest. “The expansion of our resin offerings to include PP was a logical one for us as it further enhances our position as a value added supplier to the industry”.

With an increased focus from both converters and brand-owners towards a sustainable and recyclable raw material, PolyQuest aims to provide a solution for post consumer PP products in the marketplace. “Our goal is to introduce several post consumer PP recycle products to our customers in 2019” explains Brad Willingham, Vice President of Business Development for PolyQuest. With our competency in post consumer rPET flake and resin, PolyQuest expects it can carry this expertise over to PP. Mr. Willingham goes on to say “the second stage of our post consumer PP efforts will potentially include a letter of non-objection (LNO) for recycled PP products back into food contact applications sometime in 2020”.
