PolyQuest, provider of the most comprehensive, cost competitive supply portfolio of virgin and recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resins in North America, will invest an additional $8MM at it’s Darlington, SC distribution and recycle facility. Although some aspects of the investment involve proprietary technology, PolyQuest has disclosed that it is a combination of PET extrusion and solid-state technology for upgrading post consumer bottle flake as well as separate stand-alone batch solid stating units primarily used for IV enhancement of specialty virgin PET resins.
This expansion will add approximately 65 million pounds of annual processing capacity and create 30 additional jobs at the Darlington site.
“This expansion happened locally because of the value we see in our current labor force and the aggressiveness of Darlington County Council Chairman Billy Baldwin and the Darlington County Council as a whole, Senator Malloy, Progress Energy and the State of South Carolina Commerce Department” said Brad Dutton Vice President and General Manager of PolyQuest, Inc.
PolyQuest is a privately held entity headquartered in Wilmington, NC with its flagship recycling facility located in Darlington, SC. PolyQuest is the largest distributor of PET resins in North America.
